Sir Henry Cotton,-To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether a despatch has now been sent to the Government of China in reply to the proposals presented to the British Government on the 29th November, 1906, regarding the traffic of Indian opium to China; and, if so, whether papers will be laid upon the Table.
Answer.
I must refer the honourable Member to the reply given yesterday to the honourable Member for Holmfirth by my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for India. It is not proposed at present to lay papers on the subject.
